SERVICES
Our company offers an wide array of wood restoration capabilities because of our specialized skills and knowledge. When it comes to our business, we offer our customers talented manpower resources and a recipe for success. Listed below is a list of the services we offer our clients.

Before we attempt to execute any of our projects, we always create a project plan that succinctly and completely encapsulates all the steps needed to fully complete the project. Without the project plan fully understood by all involved, we never deploy our work team to the jobsite. We make sure that we have a full understanding of the “critical path” for the project; those tasks that have to happen one after the other in order to facilitate completion, vs. tasks that can happen simultaneously or haphazardly. We have learned over the years that properly managing the multitude of tasks of a project will dramatically reduce the time from contract to completion. And we have paid dearly for some of those lessons.

Specialty Wood Stripping:

Stripping denotes the removal or partial removal of finishes from the surface of the work. Finishes will include but not limited to paints, varnishes, lacquers and stains. Stripping is normally done at our facilities for health and safety, environmental and economical reasons. At our facility we have complete control over the work environment, stripping agents and tools that we use while mitigating the effects of damage to the environment. This process involves the disassembly and removal of the work pieces, transporting them to our facilities, removal and cleaning of existing finish and neutralizing the residue of the stripping agents.

On some jobs, the work cannot be removed and transported so the stripping will have to be done on-site. For these projects we utilize specialty products and methodologies to safely and economically remove the existing finish and to safely remove and dispose of any residue that result from our work. We take particular care to protect the surrounding and adjacent environment while utilizing very cost effective means and methods to get the job done. We only use the best stripping agents that the industry has to offer for the job at hand, and so we are not locked into using one supplier but rather we look for the best products across the whole industry. In addition to completing the work we also design a comprehensive project plan and will not deploy our team to the job site until the plan is understood and agreed to by all involved with the project.

Wood Restoration:

Requires a close study of the history of the piece of woodwork. Additionally some forensic study may have to be performed in order to get a good understanding of the type of finish materials and the methods employed during that particular era when the piece was created and finished. Once the history has been determined, the actual process of returning the piece to its original condition and appearance begins. This process of restoring the piece to its former charm may involve repairs, recreation of missing or broken parts or components, removal of the existing finish and re-gluing. We take extra care to preserve the structural integrity, sentimental and economic value of the work, while applying the necessary treatments reminiscent of the period.

Refinishing and Refurbishing:

Refinishing involves mainly the removal of undesired finish from the piece of work, then applying new finish materials to the customer’s specifications.  Some refinishing projects may involve some degree of restoration because of the customer’s desire to maintain a certain feature. Refurbishing is done to woodwork that is in reasonably good shape but may have surface areas that are worn and there may be loose joints and slight damage to the wood. The process of refurbishing may involve repairs, replacement of missing or damaged parts and components, re-gluing of joints. Refurbishing does not usually involve the removal of old or existing finish from the surface.
